Summer is finally upon us, and what better way to embrace the warm weather than with a new hairstyle.
Styling your hair during the summer can be a bit tricky, but don’t worry, I’ve got the perfect (easy) hairstyles for you and a ‘step by step’ guide on how to recreate them. I am always looking for a hairstyle that looks pretty but it’s also quick to achieve and practical in the summer months. You can never go wrong with the classics, and luckily, they’re not that hard to do.
These looks will instantly make you feel lighter and more relaxed during the summertime. Your hair will be away from your face, while still looking super cute. That’s definitely a double win.
In all of the looks I’m wearing my gorgeous Bellissa Hair extensions for that extra bit of length and volume. I wear color ‘Boss Bitch’ (20 inch) from their Seamless Collection, and I absolutely adore them. Read on to find your go-to summer hairstyle!
Big Messy Ponytail
The perfect summer ponytail is a no effort look that suits all hair types. It is the ultimate hairstyle on a scorching hot summer day or for your second-day hair.
A ponytail doesn’t just have to be a hairstyle you can wear to the gym, it’s a versatile updo that can be worn for many occasions.
One of the reasons why I love ponytail hairstyles so much is that they’re so easy to create—it’s the perfect style for when you want to look put-together but don’t have much time to spare. That being said, despite being simple, a ponytail hairstyle is still utterly chic and here’s how to create it.
Step 1: Brush through your hair to get rid of all tangles and knots. To add even more oomph put in your Bellissa Hair extensions. Place them upside down to blend them in with your ponytail.
Step 2: Next, tie up the hair using a scrunchie for a cute - everyday look, or take a small piece of hair from the ponytail and twist it around the base, covering the hair tie for a more sophisticated look.
Step 3: Smooth over, spray with hairspray and add a few curls to blend in the extensions with your natural hair.
Easy Effortless Top Knot
You can never go wrong with this classic summer staple. Messy or polished, it can be dressed up or down.
This look is super playful and timelessly chic — and it’s easy to achieve.
A top bun is perfect for when it's too hot to deal with something that requires anything more than minimal effort, that’s why I love it so much. Here’s how to create it.
Step 1: First, flip your head upside down and pull your hair into a loose ponytail, as high or as low as you’d like it. Don’t use a comb or worry about your strands being perfectly slicked back — some bumps are ok.
Step 2: For added volume, add your Bellissa Hair extensions. Place them upside down to blend them in with your bun. Twist the hair, and spin it around the base of the ponytail, continuing to wrap below the bun. Be sure to leave the tail out at the end.
Step 3: Secure it with a hair elastic and bobby pins.
Chic half-up half-down
Classic and stylish, this is one of my signature hair looks that I wear all the time. This iconic style is sleek and practical, keeping hair off your face for those hot summer nights. Here's how to achieve.
Step 1: Start on clean freshly washed hair. Clip in your Bellissa Hair extensions for a bit of extra volume and length. Using a medium to large-barreled curling iron, twirl your hair around in sections to create loose waves.
Step 2: Part your hair in the centre. Spritz some dry shampoo or texturizing spray on the crown line to add some extra volume, this will also help prep your hair for a fuller beehive,
Step 3: Twist each section and pin it in place using bobby pins and finish with some hairspray.
Tousled Waves with a stylish Straw Hat
Whether you wear it for sun protection or as a hair accessory, the straw hat is becoming a must-have wardrobe item! The perfect undone summer hairstyle for you! It definitely screams effortless and chic at the same time.
I love this sophisticated, yet boho-chic look and considering I never used to like wearing a hat, now I own several ones and they have become a staple in my wardrobe. Here's how to create this look.
Step 1: Start by clipping in your Bellissa Hair extensions and then curling all of your hair, loose waves/curls will be perfect for this look.
Step 2: Brush through the waves for a more natural/effortless look and apply some hairspray to set.
Step 3: Put on your hat, you can also decorate it with some flowers or flower crown for a bit of extra glam.
